Psy 285
Psy490 - I will test this theory by randomly selecting 3 women and 3men teachers who have a strong immune system and 3 women and 3 men who have a weak immune system. I plan to divide the group into three groups.
Psy 490 - One group will be the control group and the other two groups will be the treatment group. One of each teacher with the high and low immune systems will be assigned to the control group and the same will apply for the treatment groups.
Psy285 - The first treatment group will be the group that will use the gel and hopefully prove my hypothesis to be true; the second treatment group will also be given a gel that they perceive to be an antibacterial gel but in actuality is not. The control group will not be given a treatment at all but will still have a class full of sick children. The purpose is to see if the gel really works, if so on whom and if the healing of the teachers is all in their minds. I hope to prove that the set of treatment teachers who use this antibacterial gel will benefit from it and to prove that a common cold or flu is treated or avoided by using an antibacterial gel. In addition I will see how many of the teachers who believe the non-antibacterial gel is working for them when it in fact is not. I will begin by filling each teacher’s class room with students who either have the flu or a cold. I will tell the teachers to use the antibacterial gel at least 6 times a day for five days. Being that all of the teachers will be coming into contact with sick children every day for a week I am predicting that the ones with low and high immune systems will not be affected if they use the antibacterial gel.
